Have you heard of the term “Inflammation?” Most people hear that and they think an acute injury or pain. And they are definitely correct. However, Inflammation can mean much more than just physical symptoms.

Inflammation is at the ROOT cause of all disease and health conditions.

Inflammation refers to your body’s process of fighting against things that harm it, such as infections, injuries, and toxins, in an attempt to heal itself. When something damages your cells, your body releases chemicals that trigger a response from your immune system

Think if you sprained your ankle; it gets red, puffy and swollen and probably hurts? That’s the body’s natural acute inflammatory response.
This is good short term, but what about if we have inflammation on a daily basis? Imagine walking around with a sprained ankle all the time. You probably won’t be able to do everything you need & want to do.

Chronic systemic (full body) inflammation is affecting millions of people every day. Chronic inflammation is like have that sprained ankle or a cut that never heals. This is where the body has produced an immune response to address the internal stress it is under.

Some examples:

  • Brain fog, trouble concentrating, ADD or ADHD
  • Low energy
  • Joint and muscle pain
  • Neuropathy
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches & migraines
  • Digestive issues like IBS, constipation, bloating etc.
  • Nagging injuries that never heal
  • High cholesterol, high blood sugar, diabetes, insulin resistance
  • Autoimmune disorders
  • Any chronic disease, like heart disease, cancer

This inflammation is caused by chronic exposure to different stressors. Your “Inflammation Bucket” doesn’t fill up overnight, but rather by a slow accumulation of stress over time.

Some Stressors include:

  • Chemical & toxin exposure
  • Poor diet
  • Sedentary lifestyle
  • Poor posture
  • Smoking & alcohol
  • Drug use
  • Poor mindset, toxic relationships, lack of social connection
  • Medications

The good news is that we have many ways we can naturally lower chronic inflammation!

Here are just some of the tactics that have been proven to lower systemic inflammation:

  • Healthy Diet: Focused on anti-inflammatory whole foods diet and eliminating processed and inflammation-promoting ingredients
  • Meditation
  • Visualization & Mindfulness practices
  • Gratitude and positivity
  • Proper sleep and rest
  • Optimal hydration
  • Exercise
  • Sweating and sauna use
  • Cryotherapy
  • Targeted supplementation (such as omega 3 fish oil, Vitamin D, turmeric)
  • Reducing chemical and environmental toxin exposure

I help clients reduce their inflammation and lower their risk of disease by providing personalized plans, structured support and accountability.
