3 Mistakes People Make with Fat Loss

I wanted to address a common question I get…
“Why is it SO hard to lose weight?”
How many times have you asked yourself this question? Anyone with a weight loss goal, who is working hard on establishing healthy habits, knows that losing weight takes TIME! 

Progress is rarely a straight line and that your weight loss journey is going to take a long term and sustainable approach to dial things in. 
I work with clients at various points in their journey and it’s my job as a coach to meet them where they feel comfortable making a change. Your goals are MY goals!

Everyone has their own reasons for wanting to lose weight, but an underlying theme is that you want to feel GOOD and confident in your body. And you deserve to! Many people acknowledge that they need structure and accountability to help lose weight because they encounter some all too common roadblocks during their weight loss journey…am I right?!

So let’s take a look at 3 of the most common mistakes when it comes to losing body fat…

1.   You’re looking for quick fixes or following fad diets 
It is often really tempting to follow a diet that you have heard has worked for someone else, which has led to a rapid weight loss. What you don’t know about this is that often these quick fixes or fad diets are super restrictive and are tough to sustain, leading to the regaining of weight. 
There is no one size fits all approach to weight loss. A benefit my clients experience is LESS STRESS and feeling more confident in making healthy choices. We collaborate and come up with an individualized plan that fits your lifestyle, and focus on healthy habits you can maintain long term.

2.  You are “All or Nothing” and making too many changes at once 
Weight loss is a marathon and not a sprint. There is a tendency to want to make too many changes all at once in order to meet our goals sooner. What we see is that this is WAY too overwhelming, and people aren’t investing the time it takes to make healthy habits part of their foundation. 

 3.  You don’t have a personalized plan and accountability
So many people try and follow a plan that their friend, spouse, family member etc. is doing. It worked for them, so what about for you? That’s not always the case! Health is not cookie cutter and you have to find what works for YOU. That’s where I come in! We take a comprehensive look at your past and current health, connect the dots between any symptoms or issues, and then I recommend specific steps to get you back to feeling and looking your best.
