HORMONE HEALTH DO’S & DONT’S

A Functional Medicine and Holistic Approach


You’ve been told you have PCOS, a slow thyroid or “infertile” (man do I hate that label). Or maybe you haven’t had a diagnosis but you just KNOW something isn’t right. Your hair is falling out, your sleep sucks, you have PMS most of the month, you feel bloated, brain fog, fatigued & just so uncomfortable in your body. Something has GOT to be up.

Hormone DONT’s: Here is what most women do when trying to balance their hormones, that does NOT help them:


Go on birth control, synthetic medication or hormone replacements as a long term solution
Not receive any personalized & thorough testing
Try any and every type of supplement (because it works for others, right?)
Stress out and question yourself, doubt it will work, have negative feelings, guilt & fear like “It’s my fault, is it going to work?”
Use extremes, like cutting out all exercise and eating tons more, without a personalized approach
Only look at the specific hormone imbalance or system
It’s not your fault if you are or have made these mistakes. You’ve been TAUGHT to take a pill, not question things & to not look for root causes or triggers. Society has also been mislead…ALL systems of the body are inter-connected and affect each other!

Prioritize all systems of the body
Use a comprehensive & holistic approach to finding root causes of WHY you have imbalances
Test not guess; use full panels of ALL systems that could be involved
Recruit professional support with a functional medicine based health care provider

Create personalized lifestyle based solutions for long term healing:

  • Address your nutrition, removing inflammatory trigger foods and prioritizing quality choices
  • Create a balanced exercise routine
  • Removing and reducing stressors of all kinds
  • Prioritize rest, recovery and self care
  • Remove environmental toxins and reduce chemical/toxin exposure (it is coming from every day products!)
  • Nurture your relationships, connection, spirituality for fulfillment and peace
